What to expect
Your private guide will pick you up from your Aswan hotel or Nile Cruise to Abu Simbel. These magnificent rock-cut temples were built during Pharaoh Ramses II’s reign in the 13th century BC and are dedicated to Ramses and his wife, Nefertari. As architectural masterpieces of Egypt’s New Kingdom, the temples faced flooding due to Aswan’s High Dam. The Egyptian government and UNESCO collaborated to save them.
Upon arrival, your guide will show you the Great Temple, honoring Ramses II and other gods, as well as the smaller Temple of Hathor. After exploring the temples for about two hours, we’ll back to Aswan and sail to the Nubian Village on Soheil Island. Visit a local family, enjoy a refreshing drink, and learn about their culture and language before returning to Aswan.
